Hello all,

I'm thinking of opting for a Hotpoint washer/dryer as my first washing machine. Probably the WD440 at £300.

I'm concerned about reliability because everyone seems to have had washing machines that fail/leak etc. Does anyone have experience with Hotpoint?

The reason I've chosen them is because it's in budget (>£400) and includes a dryer (very small house).

Thanks

I've had a Hotpoint WD??? for 9 years. The brushes have had to be replaced twice, and that's it. Works brilliantly, excellent spin, and clothes come out practically dry

Washer dryers are hopeless; three hours for a load, and while its running, the washpile is getting bigger. I prefer separates so that while one load dries the next load is washing. I have one of the new Hotpoints, which has a timer so I can use it at night on the cheap tarriff, and is A rated. It is very quiet and a brilliant machine, 1300 spinspeed. It cosy £600, but is the best I have had apart from Miele, which cost £1000. My tumble drier stacks on top of iit, and space then is not important.

Hotpoint are good, I have the Aquarius model. Whatever make you get however, I wouldn't recommend a washer/dryer, the spin cycle on wash mode tends to be less powerful and so it takes longer to dry your clothes. You can get stackables for this model. Hope that helps. Happy washing!

Hotpoint are good and I've never had cause to complain but its like everything there are good and bad products lol. Washer/dryers are not as good as washer and dryers more expensive and not as efficient.

hotpoint are good the main cause of washing machine breakdowns are due to lime scale I've had a hotpoint for years reccomend them use a watersoftner in the machine Calgon is fairly good at removing /preventing scale
