You aren't the only one. Things are so ****ed up down here on Earth that our government wants you to think that space is an escape. Colonies on Mars and the moon? Yeah, right. You and I my friend are flippin' the bill for this boondoggle. Enjoy!

Same reason our tax dollars get wasted on nonsense like strip clubs or parking lots. Now I'm not dogging the notion of exploring space and seeing the discoveries of what was collected. I think it's fine if your into that. I'm just not hopping on a plane to mars when they make those available. Just my thoughts.

See Hawking's question about humans surviving the next 100 years. We will, inevitably, outgrow this petrie dish earth of ours. Space exploration is the equivalent of mold spores trying to launch themselves from the Chinese-food carton onto the walls of the fridge. Gotta live! Gotta live!

I have asked myself the same question. Especially when we look at the cost involved and realize that many people on earth could be fed and immunized against diseases at a fraction of the cost.
But, who knows. Maybe one day we will need colonies on Mars.

I doubt that you're the only person who feels that way.

As a matter of fact, doubt that ANY notion or feeling you experience is yours and yours alone. It's a big world, and there are a lot of folks out there.
