We were poor. There were 7 of us. My dad could not afford to buy me a new bicycle, so he went to the hardware store and bought new stuff to put on an old bicycle and when I got home, there was my bike with new grips, freshly painted red paint, and of course, he always test drove the bicycles to make sure they were safe. I still remember him flying down the hill in front of our house testing out my bike. He was peddling away and showing me how good my bike was working.
Dad died in January, he was 81 years old and had so many health problems, His hair was gray, and he weighed about 120 lbs, much smaller than his 220 lb 6 ft tall frame from my childhood memories. I sure will miss him.

My dad has been dead 24 years so any time I spent time with my dad was the best memories that I have.

I grew up on the beach in a very touristy town...I remember winters when it was like a ghost town and just wandering on the beach for hours on end all by myself not another soul in sight......I also fondly remember my dad always coming home from work and running out to meet him and he'd act like a magician and we'd get inside and there would be ice cream in the freezer always peach flavored.

It was winter time and all three of us kids made a snowman with our birth father. We put a hunting vest on him, cigarette in its mouth, and put a rifle in its stick arms and we called him "Dad's Hunting Buddy." That's the happiest memory I have of him, because we all had a lot of fun.

ummm, i rode a bike... got a dog, that died... i think my best memories were with my father staying up late at night watching horror films, eating various weird snacks we made. those memories are hazy, and vague. but still treasure-able
