Nope, you need to PLU GIN, NOT UNPLUG something. For most games that are broadband only, you connect the ethernet jack (larger than a phone jack, but looks like one) to your wired network, and use an online configuration cd or game with online capability to set it up. On dial-up games, use the actual phone jack if you do not have broadband in your house. Otherwise, use ethernet.
