My Rome:Total War game seems to freeze when the anti-virus is on.

Check the documenttaition for your AV program. You should be able to set an exemption for your games executable or folder. This should help with your problem.

i take advantage of a loose Anti-Virus application said as avast. I had Mcphee(sp) and the Norton. both slowed down my computer plenty!! This doesnt seem to sluggish it down in any respect. I dont even be conscious at the same time as its scanning. I sport also. Google Avast and get carry of it. i'd attempt that previously spending money on one.

Hmmmm....what does that tell you? Maybe that game is loaded with crap you don't want on your computer.

no need but it can be the cause that your computer is very slow.
