No, thinking is merely proof that you exist, cause you have to exist in order to have a thought. So you could stop thinking and still exist.

before you ask that question i believe that you need to define your terms. what do you mean by thinking? do you mean rational thought as in, "what will happen if?... or what is 2 x 34535? or just thinking as in do i want an apple or orange to eat? also are you talking about a specific life form? human thought is extremely complex but also, do dogs think? and to what degree if so. Cease to exist? what does it mean to not exist. if you are a vegetable on a hospital bed with no legible brain waves then do you exist? or do you have to be completely utterly dead. once you find a common and acceptable definition to these points, and many others (mine aren't the only ones, as there are a plethora of points to be made about these definitions) i believe that you could then begin to disect your question. until then the only answer one could give is to individually list out all aspects of the question and it's definition, and who knows how long that would take.

it is possible to stop thinking. It is called meditation. At least the kind where you block everything out when you listen to a specific noise. Some religious people may think that you will cease to exist since they believe that meditation leads to demonic possesion. In any case, I doubt you were thinking when you asked this question. Did you cease to exist?

If you completely stop thinking, that is called Brain dead and at that point, you do cease to exist within yourself but your physical body is still there since other people continue to think therefore can see you.
