i understand your concern, its really hard when you acquire chickenpox
In most cases, it is enough to keep children comfortable while their own bodies fight the illness. Oatmeal baths in lukewarm water provide a crusty, comforting coating on the skin. An oral antihistamine can help to ease the itching, as can topical lotions. Lotions containing antihistamines are not proven more effective.
Trim the fingernails short to reduce secondary infections and scarring. (thats very important)
Safe antiviral medicines have been developed ask the nearest pharmacy about it, brands may vary depending on your location. try looking for ACYCLOVIR
Some doctors also give antiviral medicines to people in the same household who subsequently come down with chickenpox. Because of their increased exposure, they would normally experience a more severe case of chickenpox.
DO NOT USE ASPIRIN for someone who may have chickenpox. Use of aspirin has been associated with Reyes Syndrome. Acetaminophen and ibuprofen may be used instead.
the issue here is the childs feeling of comfort and security, stay with him, that will comfort him and ease the anxiety. it will aid in fast recovery
good luck

Oatmeal in the bath will help also. I would not make hot, just warm. Hot can take some of the oils out of the skin.
The spray on benedryl might help, but some kids have allergies to it.

Well, depends on how old he is the doctor does prescribe pills that help with the itching, if too young alot of times they give you creams or ointments to apply on it. Need to get a lot of rest..... Hope he feels better.

Put him in a bath with some baking soda. It will help.
