Neoceratodus forsteri. The Australian lungfish is the only obligately aquatic lungfish. Its African and South American "cousins" can survive the dry seasons outside of the water, in burrows where they conserve moistness and breathe air throught their lungs, but the Australian species needs an aquatic environment to survive.
It is more fish-like than its cousins and has much larger scales too.
