Actually Jaimie D isn't far off. Something like 85% of people who win a million dollars or more in a lottery don't have a penny of it left after five years.

The first thing I would do would be to decide how much I was going to donate to various charities. Depending on the size of the lottery, I might set up a foundation.

I would set up a college fund for my daughter, and pay for the rest of college for my wife's kids.

I'd then set up another fund so that I could live comfortably for the rest of my life without *having* to work.

Beyond that, I really don't know. It would be fun to live in a fabulous home somewhere. My wife always wanted to live in Manhattan.

I would also *love* to be able to fly around in a private jet. That would completely transform travel for me. No more airport hassles.

Split the money with my father. Set up a college fund for my son. Give money to a few charities close to my heart. Finish paying for my brother's education and I'd buy my sister a new house for her, hubby and the kids.

First, you'd have to give a lot of it to the government.
Second, I'd share with my family, church, and then
help where I'd see a legitimate need. It would be great
to help someone who doesn't know how they will be
able to pay their next rent payment, not enough money
to buy sufficient groceries, clothing for poor families and
children etc. I would not use the money for "THINGS".

I would buy a new home and car. I would stash a few million to live on for the rest of my life and would give the rest away to kids, grand kids and those that need it more than I do at the time

Wait for a bigger jackpot, and spend all of the money on lottery tickets.

It depends on how much I won. If we're talking pipe-dream super huge payout, I'd go ahead and add another bedroom to my house. Or I'd pay off student loans, my mortgage, or heck, if it's enough, all of that!

I would probably buy a Lamborghini Murcielago Convertible and either save the rest or use it for gas money!
