How do you speak to someone but just be friends?

I've heard of a situation where a couple see each other but one of them is married. In this case they decide to talk to one another and go out but yet try not to get feelings involved. I don't quite seem to understand how you can be with a person for so much but yet have any kind of affection towards them.

very carefully, it is hard, trust me it is hard, but you also have to find a guy that your not attracted to (depending on if your nervous)
