Yes and No. Yes, American movies are viewed throughout the world. Also rap and hip hop music is heard in Europe with the singer rapping in France, German, Italian, etc. Yes pop culture is legendary for being only a trend, especially music. Movies are less trendy and more established in other countries. American television shows are also popular around the world as well as McDonald hamburger.

As far as serious art, American pop art culture holds less sway. Andy Warhol is popular in Europe as well as painter Roy Litchenstein, yet western Europeans have their own popular artists. And the Europeans enjoy classical music, opera, and ballet, the high arts. Not American influence in those art forms.

That's a great question, are you an art history student?

Time Magazine ran a great "mini magazine" about conquerors, which highlighted the secret lives of Ceasar, Napoleon, Kahn and others, and one of the conquerors was the USA. The reason for this more than other is the export of our entertinment products. American TV and movies are bought by so many media markets around the world, it seems difficult to completely escape the influence of American pop culture.

Along those lines, in the spring I read an article claiming that CSI:Miami was the #1 American television export last year.

Aside from all of that background to what may or may not evolve into a great or a terrible answer, I'm hard pressed to give you specific examples. Good luck my friend

In New York they had a statue of JESUS and it had sh** on it and they called it art. I think that if they did that to a statue of the Mother Mary or Hindu's or even Mohammad they would be shot dead but because it was JESUS it's called art? I think they will pay for that, not by me but JESUS himself will get that straight. Pop culture has gone to far in some cases.
