beautiful...it's my fav place to go, the arizona memorial in oahu is very saddening and really makes you feel for all those boys that died...i threw fresh flowers in the ocean for them as did some of the other people who were there...not only that but maui to me is my get away from the world (very peaceful and relaxing)

Just like any other state. No, we do not wear coconut bras. No, we do not live in grass huts. (Yes, people ask me that all the time.) We do have a lot of adopted traditions (especially from Asian countries) such as taking off our shoes when we enter a house, because Hawaii did have a lot of immigration during its sugar plantation days. Hawaii also has a very diverse population for the same reasons.
We are not racist, as some posters suggest, but we do get a bit impatient when people who aren't from Hawaii ask us a lot of stupid questions (Can I live in your shack on the beach?).

I love it! It is beautiful! Provided you are in the right area the people are great. There is this one road that I have to drive down every day that has pineapple fields on both sides and on hot days or when they pick them it smells like pineapple all the way to work. The only bad thing is it is expensive but hey what can you expect when your living in paradise! (I live on Oahu x 3 yrs)

We are alot like San Diego, but with asian people instead of mexicans.
We have less pollution, less crime, and more good times. The days are longer and the food is better.
Yes, we are on islands. But on some islands you hardly feel like you are surrounded by water.
We are very laid back. If you are loud and stupid, you will have problems with alot of people.

Well it's surrounded by water for a start. Many people get lei'd in Hawaii.
Lots of pineapples and bikinis and Japanese couples getting married.

It's nice if you're into a lot of touristy areas. But mostly it's like any other place in Florida, just more asian people.
