Only if you are allergic or are bitten by many at once.

As far as I know fire ant bites are not venemous. I have been plenty stung/bitten by fire ants on numerous occasions and lived *smiles* but I have had a reaction of swelling of where the bite happened.

Fire ants can be nasty and they not only bite but sting ...the best prevention is to avoid them and their homes. If your reaction is very very bad then you should seek medical attention but mostly some Benydryl will do.

Fire ants are mostly found in the Southeastern/southwestern US. And everyone down here has a fire ant experience story. Hope this helps your worry and answers any concerns you have.

Only if you are bitten by them and show a reaction to the venom.
Most of the time you will feel the pain and then a little white pimple like deal will show up from the bite.

it depends on if you are bitten by one or if your bitten by many. If your bitten by many, it can cause anaphalactic shock and you could die. If its just one bite, its fine. Some people are very sensitive to insect bites while others are not. If you know that insect bites always cause extreme symptoms, then I would go to the doc to be on the safe side.

Not necessarily. It really depends on if your allergic to them or not. If you are then you need to seek treatment right away otherwise there just painful bites that tend to itch quite a bit and throb alot. Rubbing calamine lotion on them and washing them with warm soap and water can help with the itching and the throbbing. You can also use aloe vera to try and calm the inflammation down. If it really hurts I recommend you go and see a doctor right away.

Only under rare circumstances, they do put an acid type venom under your skin that cause small blisters, but unless you are just covered with them or maybe a hemophiliac you just have to ride it out and deal with the burning.
