transsexuals, transgenders, intersexes - ppl who changed their gender or would like to do it.
transvestites - ppl who dress like other gender, mostly b/c they want to be a different gender.

Transsexuals are people who believe they were born in with a physical sex that doesn't match their gender, ie a physical man who feels that he should have been born as a woman. Often transsexuals live as their gender rather than sex and opt for sex-change operations.
intersexed is new PC term for hermaphrodite.
Transvestites are people who dress like members of the opposite sex. They might be gay, like drag queens, or they might be straight. Sometimes they do it for sexual pleasure, sometimes because they just like it, in a nonsexual way. They don't want to BE the other sex, just dress like them.
androgynous people are people who don't want to be identified with either sex, or who want to be identified with both sexes at once. They typically only have one set of genitals (although I suppose you could be an intersex genderfuck), so they are not the same as intersexed people. See also:genderfuck.
transgender is an umbrella term used to describe all the different types of people listed above. So a transsexual is always transgendered, but not all trangendered people are transexuals.
Whew, that's a lot of info. I hope it helps!

A lot of the above are...almost good answers, but "off" a bit.
Transsexuals are people who, the cliche goes, feel they were born into the wrong body; I THINK that to be "transsexual" instead of just "transgender", you need to also have begun to take some steps to change your sex (called "transitioning"). They identify as the gender that is usually associated with the opposite sex.
Transgender is an umbrella term that essentially covers anyone who isn't seen, by themself or others, to be completely defined by "male" or "female" (includes transsexuals).
Intersex people are those with any number of medical conditions that make them PHYSICALLY not consistent with other "men" or "women". To start with, there are actually 5 genetic sexes; not just XY and XX. The only other one I can remember off the top of my head is XXY. There's other things that can happen that aren't genetic. Not all of these are necessarily conditions that would have used to have been called "hermaphroditism".
Transvestites are men who like to dress as women. Drag queens go in this category.
Transvestite fetishists are men who like to dress as women specifically for sexual kicks.
Androgynes, I haven't heard of specifically in this context, but psychologically refers to people who have some traits that are culturally associated with EACH gender. It MAY refer to people who don't identify as male OR female, but somewhere in between.

trannys diff than a transvestite and drag queen
trannsexuals feel as though they have a sexual identity different than that of their own. Example, Ron has always thought of himself more fitting to BE a woman. Sometimes transexuals go through gene therapy and sex changes.
transvestites are straight guys who like to dress and only dress up as women, its like a grily man thing.
androgynes are ppl who dont see themselves as either gay straight bi and have trouble classifying themselves sexually, one of my friends is an androgyne. hes not gay or straight. no attraction to either, he so confused. but hes true to himself.
Drag queens...
A gay male who impersonates a woman, usually really goddy with fake hair and crazy makeup. its really fun to see a show.
Female Impersonators...
Not Drag but close, its just slightly diff, its let us say , not the whole nine yards with fur and 10 foot high hair. but nails done and a little makeup with a cute skirt out to a party on the gay scene.
idk what intersexes are.

Mrrrrfffff? That's a mouthful, dearheart. I think they have something to do with the switching of one sex to another...except for androgynous which is being neither. I think.
