Would illegal immigrants be Republicans or Democrats?

I don't think illegal immigrants will get the right to vote for several years, if they get it at all, but I started wondering, if they were to get the right to vote, would lean republican or democrat? Many Mexican immigrants came to America to earn higher wages - very capitalistic and Republican. Many are Catholic and pro-life, and support the church - again, more conservative than liberal. But would they see Republican resistance to amnesty as racist and be inclined to vote Democrat on that one issue?

I am genuinely curious to hear what people think about this. On paper it's easy to peg illegals as liberals, but looking at their motives and religion, they may be closet conservatives.

Definitely a third party. The immigrant population is large enough and potentially influentual. Immigrants that come to this country have a range of experiences Republicans and Democrats don't have.
