The same really applies for fellows, but I thought girls would give anything to look pretty. Why are some girls such spoil sports?

I look very much like the pic I chose. Even have my hair up right now and earrings too :o . Sometimes people like to chose a kitten or a puppy; which indicates something about their character i.e. cute or loving etc. The 'ugly' doesn't necessarily represent ugliness, it may represent toughness too. Not all girls like to portray a sweet girl look. That's what I think .

Because anonymity is a blessing and maybe it's better to not be judged by anybody the way that you do. Do you really think that the world is just some voyeuristic adventure for you to go letching after?

Most women would probably give anything to not feel bad about themselves...... that's not the same thing.

I am secure enough in my real life identity to not need to make up for anything in a virtual realm. Your thought that girls would give anything to look pretty is really quite misguided as well. I respect the mistake, but its shameful generalization.

I never really understood the appeal of avatars. I don't have a lot of time for them, nor is it a priority for me to put one out there that is blatently "me". So, I don't even put a character sketch, just a phyto for that's what I use as my name.

I agree with a previous statement that is is for protection, nobody wants unsoliscited emails from random people they don't know. That's why they make myspace.

I think you may find that people with nice picture may well not be as nice as others see as nice and people with others that see as no nice realy are. i think it depends on your definition of what is nice and what is not. the best lookers dont always make the best wives and people that are realy seem apealing find that they are and get too much attention. people tht are insecure use beutifull pics as they are inside people that have beutifull pics that stay on a long time on the internet will be hard as they will have had it all and wont take ****. beutifull to some people is not to others. but its well funn looking lol.

Chosing to not reveal your true identity with all the internet wierdo's out there is not being a spoil sport.. it's being responsible and safe.

because i dont need to prove to a load of strangers that i am pretty- i get told enough by people who actually see the real me- and i dont think Yahoo Answers is about showing off or looking good- it's about answering questions, so i think that you are missing the point.

I choose to be represented by Del Boy & Rodney. I look pretty, I don't need to flaunt it to the world :-)
