Great question. We are the way we are today because of the way we were yesterday and we were that way yesterday because of the way we were the day before yesterday.....

We are the way we are because that's what comes easiest. Damn everything else. We are who we are because the least amount of energy needed to get through our day is how we live our lives. It's comfortable and worst of all it's accepted.

Mixture of genes and surroundings. And I believe in evolution...because when I look at pics of people that lived say, a hundred years ago, the people look similar. I think people are changing all the time, yet have things in common with people of their time.
