Ovechkin, hands down. Crosby was a sensational talent, but I think that one year that Ovechkin had on Crosby showed up in his play and his maturity. Plus, not only did he have more goals and more points, take a look at how he made some of those goals - the guy is just flat out amazing.

As much as I love Crosby, I really think that Ovechkin deserved it more. Not only because he had more points, but mainly because he was on a team of nobody's and he made the players around him better. And of course he was just amazing to watch. As for Crosby, hey nothing but respect for him and trust me, he will be a future MVP and most likely a Stanley Cup champ, but he was with guys that were good and everyone knows the Pens had a big offseason last summer and it all flopped at the beginning of the season, they are the team to watch in the future though, so keep an eye on them and Crosby.

Ovechkin, no question. He dominated throughout the whole season, leading a team that had no other star players. Crosby was good, sure, but not on the same level as Ovechkin. Next year, watch out for Malkin!

With all the hype on Crosby all season long...I believe that Oveckin was the best rookie this last season. Although Crosby did have a great season, Oveckin carried washington and was the only reason they won half as many games as the did. You also have to say that Jussi Jokkinen from Dallas had an outstanding year...11 for 13 in shoot outs for a rookie, are you kidding me!!!

Ovechkin with out a doubt. I felt Crosby was overrated in the games I saw him play but then again he wasn't in the most Ideal of situations. I felt that the Western conference rookies such as Phenuf and Savotos ( had he not been injured) should have got more press and attention. Such is the price we pay with such conference oriented schedules and the Eastern Conference press doesn't stay awake for the western conference games.

Crosby all the way!
I don't like Russian players because they play only for money. Once they got their big contract they begin to slow down. Ovechkin is a good player, but he is older. Crosby have an appetite for victory! In their junior days i saw them at the world junior tournament and Crosby was a step ahead! Crosby see the play better than the Russian kid in my opinion.

Ovechkin. He played at both ends of the ice. He played tough & physical. He scored & assisted. Crosby didn't do what Ovechin did game in and game out!

Ovechkin, hands down.

Besides, a crybaby like Crosby doesn't deserve such an honor.

Crosby. He was the youngest player to get a 100 points in one season.

Ocechkin. He played hard and to the max just about every game and really gave an all out effort. Crosby to me seemed a little too relaxed with his game sometimes but he did well too.
