remember the 7/7 bombings today? Do you actually know what they were? Today, the UK has hade a day of mourning and a day of reflection about the war on terror. I've seen evry little gung-ho patriotism and no flag waving, just sadness and reflection. However, my question is, did any of you Americans join us in remembrance? Or is it just another case of American double-standards, with our tragedies being lost to American issues?

mysopen, we mourn 911 every single year since its happened. Theirs always a 2 minutes silence and shops close at lunch times nationally. Think before you post, Britons died in the towers as well. They even fly the Union flag that was taken from the wreckage over Parliament, the one thats ripped and tattered. So yes, we do mourn your dead

Yes, I actually did remember the 7/7 bombings. It pains me every time the citizens of our allies die at the hands of the same group of cowards that we are both fighting. I'm sorry for your family's loss. I know how you feel, I lost a member of my family on 9/11. They are always in my heart and in my prayers.

Remember 7/7
Remember 9/11
Never forgive. Never forget.

And what did you do for "our" 9/11 anniversary? Do you know anyone who died in the Twin Towers of the WTC? (I do). Have you seen the site (I have) or donated to the families (Again, I have) But am I calling your country and accusing you of a "double standard"? Be fair - tragedy happpens worldwide, but those who live closest to it feel the effects the most. Sorry, but don't blame another country for caring less about your affairs than our own.

p.s. All my ancestors are from the UK

Don't be sorry. You bring up a good point. If it makes you feel better, before I went outside for lunch I looked into footage on the 7/7 bombings and really felt for the people affected. It sooo much reminded me of 9/11. If it will make you feel better, I'll skip dinner...seriously, just let me know!

Honestly, I didn't even know about it. I don't read the news paper or watch the news anymore because of all the bad things happening in the world. Now that I know, I'll say a prayer for all the lives lost on that day.

Most Americans observed a moment of silence today. The remembrance was broadcast on most media.

Don't abuse tragedy by using it as an opportunity to express your anti-American bigotry. You make our country look bad.

I watched some news on it this morning and last night. It was a terrible day a year ago for you all. Just make sure you all don't forget, that would be a double tragedy.

We remember the London bombing, the Madrid bombing, the Tokyo gas attack, every bombing, hijacking, beheading; we remember what the ugly face of terrorism looks like and realize that those murderers are still out there wishing to destroy us. We remember and learn from their actions to pursue them wherever they are. We all may not actively memorialize all of these events, but we rember them.

No double standards, Sir. The bombings in London that July 7th shook us all, even those of us in the US. We had another terror bombing scare here in New York, but the news has kept us posted on the anniversary of the London Bombings.

I can only imagine your level of grief. Please accept my personal, most sincere apologies and condolences for Britain's loss. We're in this together----Honest.

So very sorry for your country's losses.
