On boxes of nose pore strips (the ones you stick on your nose, leave, then rip off to remove blackheads) it always says that you shouldn't use them more than once every three days. This implies they have some kind of negative side effect through overuse. What is this about?

When I used them - many years ago - you could see what got pulled up along with a few blackheads. There would be tiny hairs (I didn't know I had any on my nose!) and dead skin.
I think the skin on your nose is different from the rest of your face (it's on cartilage after all). It may not be able to create enough dead skin quickly enough to protect the fresh new skin from the sticky pore strip. This may take three days.
It could also just be a safety disclaimer in case there are some people out there with really sensitive skin or other issues.

When you rip strips off, you can remove skin. You can keep doing that until your nose is raw and sore. There are also small blood vessels around your nose. As people get older, they can be easily seen. You can break those capillaries when you over use the strips. So follow the directions.

Probably because, along with your blackheads, the strips tear away a microscopic layer of your skin. My guess is that repeated, unrelenting use would cause irritation. This is all just speculation however.

I don't think there is a negative side effect. I can see it if you have sensative skin it could irritate the skin. But if you have a lot of build up I don't see the harm. If there was a specific danger they would make a more stern warning.

they can irritate the skin and even dry out the skin to such a degree it can cause it to bleed in rare cases. Protects the manufacturer from lawsuit if they let you know not to be used every day.
