What is the difference between UNITED METHODIST and INDEPENDENT METHODIST?

United Methodists are like a church and Independent Methodists like don't go to that church organization. The Methodist religion doesn't always believe in going to church as the form of religion, prayer anywhere or at home is emphasized more.

United Methodist just means that it is part of a chain so to speak...Independent just means that there is no board over a group of methodist churches that that particulat church belongs to.....and sometimes the independent church has a few standards slightly differing from the traditional methodist doctrines (but not always)
