I totally agree. Who ever said there was a normal, anyway? I think everyone has some dysfunction or another. Just because someone's life looks all messed up to you, doesn't mean that yours looks any better from their perspective. It is really easy to point a finger when you are on the outside, looking in.

All of us function at different levels of failure and success in our lives but I disagree with you that everybody is as messed up as you so eloquently would put it. The truly wise person will recognize areas of weakness and work to overcome them. Others may have to rely on other's perceptions in order to come to grips with areas seen to be obstacles in their lives. One is no better than the other except to the degree that they commit themselves to resolving those areas in their lives that keep them from functioning at their very best.

a few years ago i 'read co dependant no more' and in the first few chapters it listed things people do who are co dependant and i cracked up because if that is true, i'd say about 99% of the population has problems. check the book at the library and read the list, it's hilarious. =)
