"Shrek the Third" is already in the works for next year.
Plot Outline: When Fiona's dad dies Shrek is supposed to take the crown but Shrek doesn't want the responsibility. So Shrek, Fiona, Donkey and Puss look for a new King. And so far King Arthur is the best they have.

there is gonna be a Shrek 3, and the storyline is Fiona's parents leave or something, and they b/c rulers of Far Far Away.

it's currently in production, called tentatively "Shrek the Third"...Fiona's dad kicks the bucket, and Shrek is supposed to become king. But he doesnt want to (otherwise there wouldnt be a movie, eh), so they all go in search of someone to be king.

It's already in the works. Check out the source below for more info. It's due out May 18, 2007. Hopefully it won't coincide with the release of Spiderman 3!!

I have read somewhere, Yahoo Movies, I believe, that they are in fact making a third Shrek.

The first two were really funny, but I think they will play out the series if they decide to make a triology. It's like the Matrix films. The first one was awesome, second one was alright but the third one was terrible

I hope so! That would be cool.....Shrek movies are soooooo funny and can give kids and adults a laugh!!!! I would so go the first day it came out!

I believe so. I can't remember where I read it, but I read somewhere that it had something to do with King Arthur and his court and Shrek has to do something for him.
