I think people who have depressive personalities are more readily able to pick up the truth from others, even if the truth is not told. I think as well that these same individuals tend to dwell on the less attractive aspects of the truth.

Yes, I'd rather know the truth and start dealing with it immediately, than be told a lie, deal with that, then find out later that I'd been lied to. You have to deal with a double blow, having been lied to by someone you know and having to redeal with the whole issue. Anyone can lie, but not everyone can tell the truth

at least you only have to prepare one reaction when someone tells you the truth - if you're told a lie, then you have to prepare 2: one for the lie and then one for the truth when it comes out, because the truth ALWAYS comes out .....

Yes, the truth might hurt but in the long run lies are usually far more damaging.

Yes i hate it when people lie to me it is so damageing
What thru us out of the garden of Eden was a simple lie.
seemed harmless enough. He just said, no you won't really die.
But she did. People in religion and otherwise lie about everything.
I heard it said of all the ten commandments lieing was the most often committed. People who would never steal, or commit adultry and treat their parents with respect. Go to church.
Lie on a daily bases.
