The children of today need to be taught better morals and how to be honest so they become better leaders. Most children have access to learning materials at an early age. We need to help those children who don't have access. But the main thing children need to be taught are old-fashion manners and morals so they help others when they become leaders or even if they don't, they will still know to help others.

O.....and not to end up crooked in any sort of political position

If you want leaders with no moral fabric, no ethics, no comprehension of history, truth, justice, and yes the American way. If you don't care how they dishonor themselves and the people they lead (even the ones who don't vote or didn't vote for them. If you could care less about the future and all of the negative impact that a unfit, ignorant, self-centered, self-aggrandizing, twit which has no grasp of the real needs of the people he leads. And he or she can't communicate even the littlest of ideas or plans then Please don't teach the children. After all this is what the American Teachers Union has planed for them. And just think about this the above descriptions is of a past President who gave Korea and China the ability to fire nuclear missiles at us. All thanks to Bill Clinton

We need to teach our children tolerance, of other races and other ideas. We need to reestablish morality and quit trying to be so damn PC all the time. The bottom line is that you can't please everyone all the time. A truly good leader will grow up and understand that you do the best you can to be diplomatic and respect other's opinions, but in the end you have to make decisions based on facts not feelings.

Often when we strive to show our children, not only by our own example but by our admonitions, our story-telling, our disciplining them, we forget that we can tap into a great energy, which is extant throughout all Creation, what many call God. We forget to pray for inspiration. We try to figure it out all by ourselves, or we place our careers or personal pursuits ahead of them.

What do you mean, "should we" teach our children to become better leaders? We NEED better than we have now. This world is going to HELL in a handbasket.

After raising four children I don't think we teach kids to become leaders. I think that the desire to lead is a personal characteristic. Some people feel driven to lead; others simply don't. Our job as parents, teachers, or mentors is to ensure that we mold those minds carefully to ensure they have a strong moral and ethical foundation, and to equip them with as much knowledge and resources as they will need in order to provide them a basis for making sound decisions in whatever leadership position they assume.

They need to be taught more values. Like what is really important in life, not just what stereotyping cliques expect are important. God, love, matters of the heart and fairness are a place to start. And I think that people are getting pretty free with hurting other people's feelings. Acknowledging that everyone likes having their feelings validated from time to time would be a positive too.
Teach them how to not judge. Teach them that everyone, though different from one another, has rights.
