I dont see these mexicans, brazilians and other "illegals" trying to blow stuff up.. our so called "americans" are.... what is up with that?

"Homegrown terrorist" and "illegals" are politically charge words used by the administration to distract the public away from the real issues that effect thier lives every day of the week, namely education, jobs and thier health.

The public needs to understand that they will die some day, and they are much more likely to die of a heart attack because of the food they eat rather than some "dirty bomb" someone made to promote thier cause.

As far as illegals, why was it that no one cared 6 months ago that illegals were streaming across the border every day, but now it's all over the media? The answer is that the administration wants you to divide the focus and have people divided so they don't all become outraged at the situation in Iraq or in thier school system.

The worry about 'illegals' stems from two of the most basic social diseases: racism and xenophobia.

I just can't get enough of the slogans... "America is the land of opportunity" and the "American dream" to name a few. That's so much crap. The only ones with chances to the "opportunities" and "dreams" are the privileged high-class whiteys. All the rest have to settle for low-wage jobs no one wants to take but that need to be done anyway, and that's where your 'illegals' come in.

Most of them come from countries whose natural resources have been plundered by foreign companies, whose gas, power and water networks have been given to other foreign companies to exploit -and with miserable results-, whose inhabitants' rights to fair jobs, education, health and safety have been taken away so that they become cheap cheap labor force for more foreign companies... and they hear these tales about the "American dream" and how "America is the land of opportunity."

What would you expect them to do? To remain sitting on their hovels and living with pennies a day, or to risk everything for a better life?

You want these 'illegals' to stop coming to the United States? This is what you gotta do: stop manipulating the world so that your humongous mercenary companies can squeeze entire nations for profit and start truly caring for what happens beyond your borders.

And what about your homegrown terror freaks, you'd ask. Simple enough: ensure everyone gets their share of prosperity and wealth -not just the corporate vampires- and watch the problem go away. The people arrested by the FBI on the most recent Al Qaeda plot were almost all african-americans. Most african-americans, you all know, are at the bottom of the heap. It's natural that they would want to return the blow: just give them an excuse and the means.

P.S.: Sean_M, my hat's off to you. The world would be a much safer place if the U.S. were ran by people with brains, like you, and not by conservative rednecks with business interests and a hundred corporate sponsors with demands of their own.

The main problem that I have with "illegals" is that when they get to this country they take advantage of every government handout that they can get their hands on. Dont get me wrong I am no racist. It just makes me mad when i got a job here the first thing they did was take out taxes upon taxes. most of the "illegals" work paid under the table wich= no taxes. Or the wife of female comes to the country and has a baby on american soil and they all of a sudden that baby and family is eligible for every hand out the government gives(ie: medicaid, food stamps, welfare, hud, wic, ect...) I would suggest that we do let the "illegals" come into this country. But, on a 6 month trial basis. Learn somewhat how to speak english, get a job that takes taxes out of the earnings, and offer them a health plan that they buy into. Just like I have done. every child in this country learns english. then you get older and get a job and the government rapes your earning of the taxes. then you get a health plan that the company you work for rapes you on again. It all sounds fair to me if it is happening to the people that are citizens of this country

I know for a fact that the FBI is working closely with local law enforecement officials; they no longer work in a vacuum from each other but work together and have been monitoring all known Home Grown terrorist groups out there.
