The best time to talk with your spouse is after a good dinner. Then ask your spouse if you and he could go for dessert and coffee someplace special. Over coffee and dessert tell him how much you love him and that you need to tell him something that you are very sorry has happened. Hold his hand as you speak, then smile lovingly as you decide how you will have it repaired. I wish you the best.

Cars are just material objects and if there is no dent in the car then I would get a good cutting agent and remove the big yellow mark, communication shouldn't need a specific time for discussion it should be open and honest at all time .

Immediately! If you wait, and they see it before you have a chance to honestly explain, it could be a total disaster. It was an accident. Life is full of them. That is why we pay for insurance, isn't it? He's your partner, and now is the perfect time to find out if he is even worth keeping around.

it's an accident! It's not like you meant to do it. Remind him that cars are just material objects and the most important thing is that you are ok. You could pay for the damage, It's not the end of the world

After dinner or in bed while cuddling-when he is relaxed. Apologize and come out straight with it. It is an accident. They happen. Let him know before he sees it on his own and thinks you are covering it up/lying to him.

Feed them a nice meal - ask about their day - to be sure they don't have any bad news of their own (if they do - try and postpone until another day) - do something nice for them (ie their favorite TV show, a foot rub, something...) and then during commerical or quiet natural break say "I have something to share with you.... and spit it out"

why bother? when he finds out just act surprised. either that, or get him drunk then tell him. given he'll probably forget in the morning, you can always say you told him.
