because their eyes are reflective, they pick up any kind of light, and refract it, making it able to see in the dark, because in the wild they are hunters....

Dogs and cats are nocturnal animals by design. They need good eyesight in the dark, to catch their food. Humans are diurnal (awake and active during the day). Nocturnal animals have a reflective layer behind their retina that reflects any light that entered through the pupil. This reflective layer allows the light to travel through the retina twice, giving these animals better night vision. Humans do not have this reflective layer (which is called the tapitum lucidum by the way), thus their eyes do not "glow" in the dark.

Some animals have a membrane called the tapetum lucidum on the back of their eyes. It reflects light. Humans don't have one.

If I Remember Correctly the iris of a cat's eye is designed to collect more light than a human...hence a cat's innate ablility to see in the dark...and just as the iris collects more light, it also reflects more light.

I don't know...but have you ever watched "Ghost Stories" on the Sci Fi channeld? (I think that's the name of it) These "ghost buster" people are always sitting around in a dark room, waiting for ghostly ghosts to touch them or make noises or whatever, and they shine lights on their faces, and their eyes always seem to light up or something...looks very creepy.
