Secular rules. There are plenty of non-xian countries inthe world and most of them have laws against murder and theft! isn't that amazing? How did they ever figure out that murder might be harmful to society without the bible telling them so? It's like they must be GENIUSES or something!!
Notice out forefathers kept god out of the constitution and banned religious test for public office. They were smarter than u think.
What sense would it make to have xian laws for hindus here? Or jews? Or *gasp* atheists?!?! Why would I follow a xian law?

You think our forefathers set up this country using the Bible? Um.... haven't you heard of the separation of church and state? Our forefathers came to this country to get away from religious zealots. They wanted the freedom to practice religion freely. That's the beauty of America. I might not agree with your fundamentalist baptist views, but I have to respect your right to have your own beliefs. As an American you have the right to make your own decision without being prosecuted. You can say you hate the president, and no one cares, while in another country, you could say that, and your whole family can end up dead. You can say you love Christ and hate queers, and I can be disgusted with your ignorance, but I can't kill you for it. Get it? Christianity doesn't "keep" people from crimes. People don't Not commit crimes because they are afraid of God, they don't do bad things because it's BAD. Stupid people, violent people, they will always be that way, God or no God. Get it? If you're that messed up, the idea of consequences, either from government or God, it doesn't make a difference.

you honestly believe that without Christianity no one would've figured out those things are wrong?
If your theory held any water whatsoever there'd be only atheists in prisons.
Please explain how the forefathers "set this country into action using the Bible" but neither God nor the Bible are mentioned in the Constitution.

you're a little off on the founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, for example, was a Deist who believed God created the world and nothing else afterwards...
but really, the uproar would be deafening. The majority of Americans are Christian

There would be revolt if they did that.
MrPotatohead, you are a little off on you assertion about Thomas Jefferson. The fact is that Jefferson was a Deist, but only for a few years when he was in his 20s.

We would be like North Korea or Communist China, and the government would dictate what you can and cannot do with no care about individual approval or disapproval. You would have no rights or individualism or beliefs of your own.

just because people don't like it... doesn't mean they want to ban it... geez you people don't understand that idea do you?
and they used many different documents to set this country into action... the bible being one of them...
