It should be:
Many useful materials, such as ropes, nets, and leather, are also made from them.
You should put your examples (ropes, nets, and leather) directly after the word they apply to (materials). And "and many more" is redundant and unnecessary. An alternative would be:
Many useful materials (including ropes, nets, and leather) are also made from them.

Materials are resources used to make/manufacture products. Usually in giving examples three items are sufficient.
Assuming that your examples are genuine products (leather is normally considered a resourse/material however in context could be synthetic- a product), in the context of what you refer to as "them" (material/a collection of materials; noting it would be preferable to employ singularity where possible "it"):
" Amongst many useful products; rope, net and leather may be made from the stated materials (material)."
The use of plural or singular in reference to "material" depends on the context / idea that your sentence refers to. I also used in the singular.."rope, net.." . It is sufficient to classify a product with a singular description, although instances arise where you may wish to emphasize a collection of items having differing/ unique characteristics though sharing a general descriptive title.

You need a subject! what does them refer to?

It's alright. But it's ambiguous as to what "them" is referring to. And it's in passive voice, it might be clear and better to say, "You can also use [it] to make useful materials like rope, net, and leather."
