Yes - all cable modems have an administration section that is accessible.

Some are more secure than others, and the paths can be tricky.

Whenever you reset your modem through the pin hole it will reset the adminsitrator name and password to the modem. you'll need to login to your modem and change the password for security purposes.

Yes and no, depends how it operates. Some cable modems even have a firewall built in, most do not have any software built in though, they would just go for your PC.

not into your cable modem no, they can hack into your computer though, or get your passwords via phishing, keyloggers etc

Depends, do you use it on a single computer or do you use a wireless/wired router? If you use a wireless router, then yes....you can contact the router manufacturer for help to secure your network.
