wow it's really interesting to see the myths surrounding removal of foreskins.

i've heard it's common the philippines and south korea because of the influence of the US military there from when wars were happening. before that, these cultures did not (and rightly so) condone removing foreskins.

the idea that removing one's foreskin makes one taller is as ludicrous as saying removing a woman's clitoris will make her taller.

just plain rubbish.

hardly any boys have their foreskins cut off in australia now, thank goodness.

because of conformity, and k, above, gave a great answer too btw, it keeps happening in the US and philippines too i suppose.

it used to be religious. then when religion lost its influence, it became medical/hygiene reasons. now that modern scientific medical and psychological research has brought these assumptions into disrepute, the only reason left is conformity.

get my foreskin cut off in an extremely painful, needless procedure which reduces sexual pleasure, increases my chances of getting urinary tract infections and hiv/aids???

i don't think so.

unfortunately, some jews have the misconception that their religion requires them to cut off their son's foreskins on the eighth day.

consultation with a rabbi/student of judeism will confirm for you that it is not a requirement.

actually, it has become the easiest way for parents and families and the jews to feel that they are still jewish.

it is harder to maintain a discipline in one's life that is based around spiritual principles in our 'modern' world.

these practices, sadly, would be a whole lot more useful to society than the mutilation of their sons' penises.

can you imagine how goddam.ned angry you would be if someone cut off an essential part of your body without consulting you?

the world should thank my parents for not doing it to me, or they and a whole lot more people, just for good measure, would pay dearly for their mistake.

as it stands though, i'm still choosing to spread awareness about this barbaric practice.

Only the ones who has parents that believe all the hype about it being cleaner
All boys are born intact. In fact circumcision is an outdated torture that should be abolished. It does nothing to help the function of the penis and actually loses some of the nerves in the penis. I am intact and love it and I have had no complaints From anybody I have been with. The main thing is to teach the young boys how to keep their penis clean and they will have no hygiene problems and better sex because of the extra nerve tissue
The biggest supporter are already cut, mutilated, have part of their penis thrown away so of course they support it or otherwise their parents would be wrong for having them cut. I am an older man and have never had an infection, premature ejaculation STD or any of the other things people say WILL happen so do not cut your little boy because society says it is normal. In 20 yrs the norm will be intact boys and everyone who is cut will be different

Do not listen the people who are trying to get you to go against your will. An intact penis looks and feels better than one that is cut and mutilated

Over 80% of the world's males are not circumcised.

There are about 550 million cut Muslims, 150 Million cut Christians, 25 Million cut Atheists, and 10 Million cut Jews.

The only countries where non-religious circumcision is popular are the US, Phillippines, and South Korea.

Official Catholic doctrine says DO NOT circumcise.

There are both benefits and drawbacks, and only the parents should decide based on real information, not propaganda.
