There are no dangers of Communism.
Communism is a political ideology that seeks to establish a future classless, stateless social organization based upon common ownership of the means of production. It can be classified as a branch of the broader socialist movement. Communism also refers to a variety of political movements which claim the establishment of such a social organization as their ultimate goal.

What you really mean is a Communist state.
totalitarian state governed by a single political party (or a single list, which includes formally several parties, as was the case in the GDR) which declares its allegiance to the principles of Marxism-Leninism.

The dangers are privy to a communist State as were the problems in Hitlers Germany which was not a communist state.
The problems stem not from the ideology, but from totalitarianism.
A common denominator of both States.

Well the best way to describe it is something I read in a book once (however name of book currently escapes me). It goes something close to this: capitalism is you raise a cow and you can keep it (profit from your own hard work), socialism is you raise the cow and you have to share it with everyone (for the good of the community), and in Communism you raise the cow and the government comes to take it and you have to pay them for the meat/milk (for the good of the government). I know this is very simplified. But, it is something that has always stayed with me, my version anyway.
As other posts have mentioned, you can look at history and see how Communism has failed every time it has been tried. Repression and control of a countries people will never create a productive country as there is no personal gain from your effort. Yes, people will do things for the good of the community. But, people are motivated when they are rewarded for their own efforts (ie: a paycheck). As there are many differing views on Communism, read them and take in the information. Really, if you want to know about Communism. You have a world of information at your finger tips with the internet. Do your own research and make up your own mind.

I believe it has been said that Communism is a long road from Capitalism to Capitalism.

Communism tends to be abused by those in power and their family and friends.

In a perfect world without human influence Communism should be an ideal way of sharing the resources available to a people equally, but humans tend to quickly delegate decision making to a hanful of individuals who are too easily tempted into abusing this position for their own benefit.

All methods of governemt have their flaws. The thing is to find the best methods from each form of government and melt them together.

If we look at each country's history, they all try various forms of autocracy, democracy and dictatorship. The ones that most take into account the direct will of the citizenry work best, but none is an absolute winner. Try playing Sid Mayer's Civilization from an academic point of view to get an idea...

It removes the incentive to work, innovate and make decisions. As philosophically appealing in theory as it may seem, it inevitably turns out to be appalling in practice. It could be argued that true communism has never been applied, but enough nations have tried and failed to do so. An old friend of mine recounted tales of going into Russian restaurants in the time of the old Soviet Union and seeing 'reserved' signs on all the tables, and obviously empty kitchens. The people who ran the restaurants got paid by the state, not the diners, so they had no incentive to provide meals to anybody.

Well, which Communism do you mean? Just as with Capitalism, Communism has a 'left-wing' and a 'right-wing'.

Ring wing Communism believes in using fear to control a populance, for its own good. This is Stalinism at its worst, having a public that is lied to by the Party and fearful of its leaders. This authoritarian Communism believes in a strong army, police force and intelligence service, often aimed at its own people. Stalinist nations are infamously violent and expansionist, bringing in surrounding nations to create 'buffer zones', or defensive sections.
Left wing Communism, Trotskyism, is Direct Democracy.., but with the Communist party as the government system. Trotskyism believes in a strong Defensive policy but a strong reigonal say in national matters. Needless to say, Trotsky wasnt liked by the likes of Stalin and lead to him being killed in exile

Does this help mate?

Let history do that. Russia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Cuba, ...etc. Tell me, would you like to live there?

Communism as an economic system does not reward ideas and independence. On the contrary it makes the ordinary system dependant on the government.

In the end the proof is the results. I know of no communist country that needs to patrol its borders because people want to live and work there.

I think the biggest danger is that the USA will try to 'help' (rule)...by 'occupying' (invading) to give the citizens a free market economy (McDonalds), subdue a few rebels (shoot the locals) and leave once a democratic government is in place (the old one...just more militant) and everybody can go home ('cos we couldn't find any WMD's).... well except if you're N.Korea...we just don't wanna go there.... no oil...

An idea and philosophy isn't dangerous, it's how a people take that philosophy in and apply it to their government. USSR wasn't evil like everyone thought in the 60s-80's they just wanted to defend themselves, and let tyranical people into power.

communism in theory is perfect in practise it's impossible because as long as people have greed in their mind it cannot work , If you like Jesus was a communist he believed that we should share but again some people were greedy and you then get the rich who have more than they can ever use and the poor who live from day to day.
