Well, I would recommend walking and there are plenty of free sidewalks and parks to do it in. You might even like speed walking or running. Any exercise is better then no exercise so I am not gonna pick on any one method but in the words of Nike, "Just do it!!"

You may wish to look into "7 Minute Miracle" by Sheldon Levine, MD. This is a weight reduction and body firming program in one. The book should be available at your local library. The efficiency to losing weight is not the type of exercise but the way in which the exercise is done. You need to get your heart rate going, this causes the adrenaline to pump, when this happens the fat in the body begins to burn. It doesn't burn however during exercise but afterwards. Thus if you eat immediately after exercising you are basically undoing everything the exercise may have done.
A walk around the block or on the treadmill is great however, it needs to be done quickly enough that when you are finished your heart is pumping. I've not found any program that actually deals with weight loss the same way as the 7 minute does. And believe me, the 7 minutes you exercise really is all you need a day even tho it does make you feel so good that you want to do more...but absolutely don't.
By following the exercise program and then adhering to the eating schedule, you will most definitely see an improvement and loss in weight. I've been working with this one program for the past week alone and this being Friday...I've already noticed reductions. I have a goal to be where I want to be ... 3 weeks from now as I'm going on a working vacation with my hubby :)
Now, the exercises are a piece of cake on their own, there's no equipment required at all save a high back chair...but the combination of doing the 3 exercises for 7 minutes is a real workout. The reason...you do the 3 exercises one immediately after the other and as vigorously as you can for the full 7 minutes. If done correctly, you will definitely need a shower right afterwards. Then for the next 40 minutes you drink absolutely nothing but water...and water you will want. At precisely 40 minutes after you finished exercising you will have a breakfast, lunch or dinner, dependent upon when you do the exercises...and you will do so sitting down at the table. You'll find that you are full fairly easily and it may be tough to complete the full meal.
Then you eat a snack a few hours later and all other meals can be normal foods, in moderation. Lots of water through the day and by doing this program for a minimum of 3 times a week but ideally 7 times a week...you should see a difference in how things fit and very possible even in how you look after as little as a week. Like me, you could possibly even feel or see some of the changes on a daily basis. All the foods given in the sample menus are easily found at the grocery stores so as you already eat healthy...many of these items may already be in your cupboard.
I've worked with a lot of diets and exercise programs and I have to say that none left me with the energy or the visual results that this one has. The only other program that even comes close in my opinion was a fruit diet where you eat fruits and take protein drinks for 3 days straight and then the rest of the week you eat regular, moderate meals. I prefer the 7 Minute miracle most definitely tho.
Good luck!

Losing weight does not have to cost you a dime. If anything, it may save you money! You said you're eating right so I'll skip over that and move right to exercise. Basically, if you exercise 3 times a week for 20 minutes each time you may start to lose weight. This can be anything from going to a brisk walk or doing an aerobics routine from a video from the library or a TV show. If it's something you enjoy doing and you make a habit of doing it you will be in good shape.

oh hun that's easy.. walking! walking is rated by far the most inexpensive workout, and it yields great results.. all you need is some good walking shoes, and a water bottle... got a bike, go for a 30 min bike ride around your neighborhood... other good workouts you can do...
remember gym class?
try running in place, jumping jacks, push ups, crunches, jump rope, etc.. or spend 2 bucks and go to the city pool, pick an area and do laps.. if you're tight on cash and can't pay a gym membership, buy a workout video, $9.99 + tax at hastings can get you a great and fun work out tape. heck you can even borrow one from your public library which should have a section for health and fitness... play soccer or volleyball with some friends, just get moving... you'll be having fun, exercising and save that hard earned cash!
looking great and being healthy doesn't have to cost a fortune!
good luck and have fun!

A good way to loose weight and save money is to simply to go walking around your neighborhood/local park and you can buy a pedometer to see how many steps you took and to show your progress on a daily bases. You don't necessairly have to go out and buy diet food and beverages but watch how many calories are in the meals ,if it doesn't have a nutrition fact chart on it don't eat it. You could also do 20 sit ups & pushups for starters and jump rope for 10 or 15 minutes. Eat fruits and vegetables.
A good meal idea would be baked fish(not fried),Stemmed brocolli and mashed/baked potatoes.
But if your still not satisfied then get yourself a GOLD GYM MEMBERSHIP!!!

Start walking, first around your house, then around your block, down the street and walk a bit further every day. Inside the house you can do sit ups, step ups using a step stool. Lift weights, I find that filled water bottles make a good starting weight. You can also use cans of soup or vegetables, and gradually increase the weight until you can lift full milk jugs. Hope this helps.

I honestly am down 60lbs since I started my workout....so this has worked for me, but it may or may not for you....
WALK.
I know, I know...but seriously. Walk. Walk everywhere you can. Wear light clothes and be prepared to / ok with sweating...start doing little things like intentionally parking as far away in the parking lot as you can to force yourself to walk the extra distance if you have to drive somewhere. It adds up.
Good luck.

If you have steps, walk up and down. Do crunches. Jumping Jacks, stretches. Think of gym class and you can really go to town.
