If I knew that I'd be letting everyone know. According to the Bible the earth will be destroyed be some kind of disaster other than a flood. That leaves a lot open as to how. The Bible also gives clues as to when it will happen but not the exact date. The bible says that in the end times there will be an increase in natural disasters ( and there definitely has been in the recent years) there will be a new Jewish temple built in Israel at the site of the original temple. ( It's the place that the Jews and Muslims have been fighting over for years.) After this Jesus will return and all the christian who have died will be raised and meet him in the sky and the living christian will then also meet him in the sky. This is what is often referred to as the rapture. After that there will be a period of peace followed by seven years leading up to Jesus returning to rule the earth. During that seven year period there will be earthquakes and other plagues. When Jesus returns he will rule for 1000 years then the earth will be destroyed and a new one created like it was when God first made the earth.

Well it all depends on if you mean how is the world to be destroyed or when will it become inhabitable for human sustainment.
I will go with the earth's actual destruction:
It is completely illogical to destroy earth at any point soon in the first place, and impractical to do so purposely. Even if someone wanted to destroy the earth intentionally- he would need the amount of energy the sun puts out for an entire week to completely obliterate it.
Unintentionally it is even harder to destroy, but much more likely. An extremely large asteroid would have the potential to destroy the earth, which there are only a few estimated in the reaches of the solar system, none of which have the instability to pose any threat to destroying the earth. Even a large comet, traveling at an incredibly fast velocity would not post a threat to destroying the earth.
The most probable destruction of the earth would be the incineration of it by the expanse of a red giant- the predicted outcome of our solar system's sun. In a few billion years (about 8) the sun will become a red giant and expand to the Earth, destroying it.
So in short- the longest, and most probable timeline for the destruction of the earth would be around 8 billion years caused by the expanse and eventual collapse of our current sun.

In around 10 million years there will be no humans on the Earth, and new species will have evolved. However in about 4.5 Billion years, the sun will have used up all its hydrogen and will begin to expand. It will consume the inner planets up to Venus. The Earths atmosphere (and any life that still exists) will be burnt away, leaving a lifeless rock. The sun will not explode in a super nova, as it does not have enough mass and won't collapes in on its self. Rather, it will slowly fade out leaving a white dwarf, a very dull, cold star about the size of Saturn.

Life on earth will most likely end within the next few hundred years from nuclear war but the planet its self will either end from the sun dying in several billion years or more unlikely, bieng hit from a large rock from space.

I heard that the world is going to fry like a frying pan on 2011! Its all because we do not recycle and litter. Its all because of Global Warming! I know that the world is going to end in BILLIONS of years and that there is absolutely NOTHING to worry about. I used to freak out about this stuff but I got over it!

It depends what you mean by end...if you are referring to the end of human life, listen to the bible nuts. I, however, believe that all matter in the universe is connected, continuous and therefore can never be destroyed....only changed in shape, motion, or form. You can bust an atom apart but the energy released still exists, therefore, it isn't really destroyed at all.

Not for a long time when we're all dead and buried! Probably due to global warming where the world will become inhabitable and we've run out of water.
