There are two likely sources for your popup problem. The first is 'spyware'. Run an online scan on your system from http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/pest/pestscan.aspx to find out if that's the case. The second thing you might check is whether you've got a router hooked up between your cable/ADSL modem and your computer. They can help block certain types of popup messages that your ISP may not be blocking for the MS messenger service.

It probably depends on which sites you go on
some sites have amazing amounts of pop ups
im not sure why they are but you will probly have to ask a computer technician or have a closer look at pop up blockers and if yours is affective compared to others on the market

Your computer may be infected with spyware. My anti-virus didn't pick it up either. You can download Ad-aware SE personal for free and check to see if that is the prob. (do yahoo search for website - I don't remember what it was.)

pop ups have an extension like .pop, which yahoo blocks. but if there is an extension yahoo doesnt recgonize, it will not know it's a pop up. hope that helps.

popup blocker isant turned on or you have spywear in there..

Please go to Download.com and download Pop-up stopper, and your problem is solved.
