No more than twice. All baby food needs to go out within 2-3 days of opening it. If you don't think your baby will eat the whole thing, take out half and put it in another container and feed from that. If he wants the rest...go for it. Don't feed directly from the jar if you are going to save any of it as the saliva from the baby's mouth breeds bacteria while it is being stored.

What I always did to be safe was divide the jar into separate containers. You're not supposed to put a jar back in the fridge that the baby has eaten out of. I would divide in in to bowls with lids. When it was time for my child to eat, I'd take out one bowl, heat it up and feed her. Whatever was left in that bowl would get thrown out. When it was time to feed her again, I'd get the second bowl out.

crookie, any smart parent doesn't put the food in the microwave long enough to get hot...5 seconds is all i ever heated it up. I always tested it too

As long as you don't feed your baby directly from the jar, maybe two days? If you feed her from the jar, every time you dip the spoon into the jar to get food, you're introducing bacteria from her mouth to the food in the jar.
