Call their customer service and VERY POLITELY ask to disconnect the service. They will inevitably ask why, and when they do, just say that your budget won't allow you to spend that much when the price goes up. It is likely that they will throw some sort of offer or incentive your way to get you to stay with the service. They key is to be very polite, almost apologetic, about doing it. The risk, of course, is that they say "okay, fine, it's disconnected!" But that is the risk you take. Good luck!

If you are happy and content with the service and do not mind sticking with them, usually calling them to renew your contract will put you back down in pricing for whatever they are offering new customers. I just did this. My contract before was $29.99 and after one year, it was being offered to new customers at $15.99. So, I went ahead and called them and said I wanted that pricing and all I had to do was renew my contract. I use the same provider and am very happy with them.
