I have tried to unload the question; hence I did not ask what percentage is uninformed on 'important' issues as what is important to some may not be to others. I posed the question as 'uninformed'. Most people do not have the tools for inquiry at their disposal. Hence, they do not know the importance of and the method of collecting verifiable and objective data. They do not know how to critically think nd to use logical reasoning.

Most people take a centric local view and use convenient data (that which supports their biases and comfort) to form opinion.

However, in the U.S. and other developed countries with web access, most people haveample sources of information at their disposal.

I think people become only informed by their own stereotypes or beliefs about a situation rather than trying to find the truth.

I am well educated (carrying three university degrees) and I always try to find the truth to things and do not assume what is right or wrong ... most of the time, it's a little bit either way.

Unfortunately, YES. I have been reading questions on events taking place in the world today. It is amazing that so many have absolutely no understanding of what is happening in our world. There is no reason that anyone should be uninformed, information is readily available and events reported as they occur. I am concerned that so many do not choose to keep informed yet express their opinions so strongly. It truly baffles me?????/
