My short answer no. North Korea is really Japan, South Korea, and especially China's problem. The real reason? China USES N. Korea as kind of a "buffer zone" against the USA, kind of like a thorn in our side continuing to waste our financial resources while China steals our technology. Also, China fears S. Korea's creeping capitalism. China does not want a unified CAPITALISTIC Korea on their border. Get it? But, if Japan goes nuclear, as they are obviously going to, China does not like THAT either because of their historical animosity for one another. America will never have to intercede militarily in N. Korea.
Since you say that you don't know if the media is controlled by the government..., Let me ask you a question..., where do you live? Communist China? Haven't you ever heard of the leftist New York Times (Bin Laden favorite rag) The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Herald, CNN? These are all media outlets who give comfort to the Islamic terrorists. Does my question answer your question? Do you think the government controls the media now? What are the REAL problems in Iraq in your estimation? Time will tell just how foresighted the decision was to thrust into the heart of the terrorist problem that has been nipping at our heels since the Twin Towers first attack in 1993. Clinton ignored that attack then. The terrorists attacked our embassies in North Africa, Clinton did not answer that attack as well. Then the attack on the USS Cole went unanswered except to bomb an aspirin manufacturing facility (so they say) killing a janitor. Yemin was willing to hand over Bin Laden and we refused. We didn't know how bad he was? So, I ask you when were WE, (USA), going to deal with Islamic fundamenatalism, and how were we going to deal with it? Remember that jerk of a president Bush called North Korea, Iran, and Iraq the AXIS of EVIL? It was in his 2002 State of the Union address. Now who's questioning his label? We have no business in ANY of these countries you say? With the incursion in Iraq, we will have a permanent attendance in that country from now on to deal easily with other terrorist states - over there - and not on our shores, Get that? Also, this will result in less conflict in your children's time when we, (USA) will not have to go to war over the earth's dwindling resources, as will happen for other countries as China, India, and Russia's population develop their middle classes and use (at an exhaustive pace) the earth's resources. History will be kinder to this jerk of a president, that is sure. What do you think the world is coming to,.., peace all over?
Stay in school and become an engineer that utilizes the sun, the renewable crops, and garbage as fuel sources and stay away from public policy development, you have no business being there. This answer was way too short given the time and the outlet. Anyways, good luck to you.

Should we instead become isolationist? Ignoring what is going on in the world? I believe God gave us this great land, the freedom and great wealth. Along with that comes the responsibility to help others, including freeing people from the rule of tyrants like Saddam Hussein and Kim Yong Nam. I think it's possible we could go to war with North Korea. If we stick our heads in the sand we're opening the door for them to attack us. If we don't put a stop to what No. Korea is doing we could wake up one day (very soon) and find one of his missiles landing in the US. Should we get involved then? He's aiming at the Hawaiian Islands.

We don't belong anywhere but here. We should have been out of Iraq by now.Bush seems to be more concerned with what goes on in other countries than what goes on here at home. . Unless Bush is out of office or something changes, I think we will end up in war with N. Korea.

I suspect we won't go to N. Korea. At this point, there is no economical incentive to actually enter this country. Also, we would have to deal with China which is N. Korea's nearest neighbor. I don't think they'd like us entering such a close country. To be honest, I'd think there is a higher chance of China entering N.Korea and taking it over to avoid damaging their own economical system. Frankly, they may prefer annixing and conquering a smaller country and stopping this behavior that is right on their border. I wouldn't be surprised if a wayward missile from N.Korea to China caused a sudden interest in colonization.

Unless someone removes George Bush from office, I can assure you, we will be in the throes of war by the end of the year.
