The ideal population - let's see.. well, my husbands ex wife can go. I don't' see any need of her.
And then we can get rid of all terrorists..
and then sometimes the government gets too stuck on rules to have any brains..so they are dispensable,
I think that just leaves us..(everyone that answered this question)

Less than we have now. If we were at the ideal population, we wouldn't have to destroy any nature to have all we need, but we do so we have outgrown this boundary.

I believe mother nature knows the true answer , with figures, to this question, and will look after herself , by restoring the balance every time we upset it.
Man cannot figure this, there will be too many formulations, views, personal issues and preferences etc.

Nothing over a 4 billion unless we can manage our resources better. As it is, a billion and we'd all be rich, though would we without the poor to make us rich.

Oh, about 2 billion. Not enough to deplete natural resources or create economic and political stress that leads to violence and wars, but still enough to party.

There is abundance. Enough for everyone. Mother nature knows exactly how to balance everything out. Of course she never rules out extinction.
