If the computer is getting a strong signal then you don't need another wireless card. Are you trying to connect the second, wireless computer, to the first computer, or to a seperate wireless router?

You may need to configure DHCP on the first computer if you are connecting through that.

If the router is being used to connect the 2 computers, then the wireless configuration should be completed as mentioned previously. If still not working, you want to make sure that both computers are set to obtain ip address and the router has DHCP/routing enabled. This will cause the router to assign the ip addresses to any authorized computer that connects to it. As mentioned previously, for Windows networking to work correctly, make sure that each computer on your network has a unique name and is in the same workgroup.

You could have more than one problem, let's try one step at a time. If you have the wireless router set to wireless encryption, then you need to have the key on the computer with the wireless card. If you do have the key that matches on both the computer, and the router, then you need to make sure that you have DHCP turned on in both the wireless router and on the computer with the wireless card. If you have both of those situations solved, then the problem is deeper and requires more investigation, which means more information from you.

Do you have them on the same workgroup? Do you have a different computer name for each computer?
Try unplugging the modem and router, turn off the computers. Wait one minute and turn on the modem. Wait another minute then turn router. Wait another minute and turn the computers on. This will clear the cache and allow the modem\router\computers to sync up.
