Check around with other babysitters in your area to determine the cost. I'd charge by the hour with a small extra fee for each kid. Entertaining children is really dependent on their ages. Check out a local book store for game and party ideas for kids the age you are sitting.

Regardless of their age, almost all kids love to dress up. Take along some of your old dresses, hats, high heel shoes for the girls to model. Guys always love capes and bath towels make the best ones.

I get about $5 to $10 a hour. I think 5 im not postive. I dont tell them what im charging they just give me what they think is fair if that makes sense. I'm only 14 so i think that changes as u get older. I usually play games or watch a movie. just ask them what they want to do and im sure u'll have lots of fun. or if they have a swingset u could play outside. something like that to keep them enterain. if u want 2 get ur name out i would make a flyer that has ur name, phone number, and if u have taken any babysitting classes if u havent i higely suggest it. Good Luck!!! Have fun!!!

I'm not sure what the going rate is for babysitting...depending on your home or theirs and your area. Ask around to find out. Arts and crafts are always fun for kids. Ask the parents if they can provide some supplies for projects. If not get some balloons, old newspapers, flower and water...and do some good old fashioned paper mache projects...it's easy, fun, and you can make virtually anything.

I think nowadays it is about 2-3 dollars an hour.

And why entertain the kids? They should be able to entertain themselves, you arent their social director. Kids need to learn to be creative on their own. Tell them they have to come up with a play about the 4th of July or a task where they have to be creative. Tell them to write you a song or draw or paint a picture of something. But dont entertain them, it makes for boring grown ups, like me :)

depends on your experience how many children and their ages I have twin 5 year olds an 8 year old and a 10 year old so I have lots of ideas for activities but it depends on the age, space, how much time do you want to spend setting and cleaning up?
