hi, shine_radiantstar here, couldn't respond to your inquiry re: 20 minutes yet, couldn't find link to E-mail you, but will. Re: if people stopped watching so much TV, well, relates to 20 minutes a day, doesn't it? Maybe it's not so much thinking we need, but the search for truth. The truth is out there, my friend, and those that seek will find. The rest, the masses, I find that many really don't want to know. TV is just another way of avoiding seeking and finding the truth. Here's to turning off the TV and looking within for the truth.

YES I can really see people really THINKING more productively if they stopped watching so much TV.

TV has been described in a lot of ways.
'The Vast Wasteland'
'The Boob Tube'
'The Ultimate Sleeping Pill'
And a lot of other ways..........

Lately I would describe TV as "The Longest Commercial"....look and study very carefully and you may find programs that actually have more entertainment program value than they have actual paid for commercial time. A long time ago in a far off Galaxy commercials were limited to between 3 minutes and 6 minutes. the rest was pure entertainment, no so today.

Entertainment is the problem here. TV is just part of the equation. The Romans invented mass entertainment so you need to start there. This the beginning of when people began thinking less.

I think new media blemishes personal opinion, in many forms. Without TV, people would just resort to other sources. So, no, people will never think for themselves. Look at how many are still trying to "talk to God". Religion is just for those who need something to believe in, that's a different topic though.

Yes, and someday they might actually get tired of being talked at all the time.and stop getting the impression that no one is listening to them. All we hear is a repeat coming from our mind and mouth from television, radio etc.. We can live well without television. and we might actually start talking to God.

People think all the time. The problem is what they are thinking.

Of course not. They'd just find something else to distract themselves with. Like video games or...um...computers.
