Is there any truth to the Aspartame rumor about causing cancer? I have been warned many times about drinking Diet Pepsi because of it.

No, otherwise the FDA wouldn't be allowing more & more products to have aspterame...such all sugarless chewing gum!!!
It's mostly the carbonation damaging your teeth that you should be concerned with.

currently the conclusion is that aspartame does not cause cancer. This was first brought up after it was tested in mice and mice developed a rare form of cancer. But the problem is that mice have much faster metabolisms than a human. So a mouse ingesting a teaspoon of this stuff is probably equivalent to use eating several pounds of this all at once.

No, but if diet drinks get hot, the aspartame breaks down into formaldehyde and consuming that causes health problems.

without sounding disrespectful, almost anything(it seems) will cause cancer if enough is ingested. i used to drink diet rite cola until it got pulled from the market because it contained the sweetener cyclamate. you're not killing a 12 pak of diet soda in a couple of days are you? moderation and balance in all things young man
