which would win: mario or sonic?

the titile says it all. think of all the possibilaties they would have over each other.
sonics speed, marios jump on top of ppl 2 get rid of them aka weight stomp as i call it. personally id say sonic because of his speed could wear him down.
plus sonics got cheerleaders (amy no duh and cream) mario has only luigi which is only 2 to 1. HAHAHA!

well now that i think about it, (thanks 2 a certian guy,) mario also has peach which makes it even.

sonic also has blaze, chris(sonic x) AND Princess Elise(sonic the hedgehog((newer gamefor the PS3 and xbox 360)) )as cheer leaders! so HA! and i say it again, HA! sonic has it

oh yeah, mario will have 1 mega mushroom and sonic will have all the chaos emeralds. if you can picture it, everyone(sega, the ppl who agreed that sonic would win and Japan)+characters+ me on sonics side, everyone(nintendo ppl who agree that mario would win+ whever nintendo came from thats not japan)+ characters from nintendos on marios side.

AHA! you forgot to mention the countless soldiers Mushroom Kingdom has to offer Mario! the Yoshis who gobble up Sonics minions.... since they all look like decorated candies that you can just eat them up... Then comes Bowser, since he joins Mario in Mario RPG, he also has an army of Kupas.

But althought Mario has an Army, Sonic has Hyper Sonic mode, Shadow has Chaos Control, which the two of them can prepare a goorme out of both Marios army, The mushrooms and Bowsers army, turtles and what nots.... Some of the other characters in Sonic seroies have there own Hyper Modes and Super Modes, example, Knuckles, which no one mentioned, and Tails, which no one mentioned this lamo, cuz he's just plain lame! THERE I SAID IT SEGA, TAILS is LAME....!

I would say Sonic would take this one...

Video Game wise: Mario games are mostly more higher rated thatn Sonic Games! SO here Mario would take the point, but who cares....

WELL... Mario does have the power to form fire in his hands whenever he wants. Also to turn huge. He turns huge, gets a mega mushroom, and beats Super Sonic to the last ring. Then, if he was evil, WHICH HE IS NOT, he would squish Sonic like a bug. Or, like he would, just throw him outta the ring! That's more heroic like.

Well, I guess Sonic would win if he turned Hyper Sonic... BUT, if Mario had unlimited Starman, a racoon tail/cape, and the Fire Flower Power (Just to look cool) he could beat Hyper Sonic, but Hyper Sonic could beat Mario at the same time.

I prefer Sonic over Mario. The Sonic franchise broke the tradition of retro sidescrollers that the Mario franchise dominated long ago. Plus, Mario seemed to be too kiddie for me, Sonic is more generic yet unique.

Well Sonic has only his speed and his Super Sonic form going for him. Then we have Mario, with his ability to attain so many powers like the fireball, his racoon suit, his hammerman suit, then there's his ability to turn giant (from his taunt Super Smash Bros) and the list just goes on. And if they had help from their friends Sonic would have Knuckles, Tails, and i forget who else he has, then Mario has Luigi, Peach, and maybe Bowzer afterall they've teamed up on occasion like in (Super Mario RPG) It would be a tough fight but i think Mario just has more going in his favor.

I would have to say mario,because mario has luigi,princess peach,and all the partners from other games,such as goombella,koops,flurrie,yoshi,vivian(which is my real name,which is cool)and bobbery from Paper Mario 2.I forgot the ones from the first Paper Mario.And with all of marios abilitys you didnt mention,like hammer,turning into paper,paper airplane,paper boat,and paper tube.Even if you count all of Sonics partners and abilitys we crush.And did I mention all of marios partners(other than luigi)have abilitys?
