I took a pregnancy test and it came out positive.I've been told that you can get false positive results and I would like to know is it true.

It is usually unlikely to get a false positive. A false negative is a little more likely to happen. I would go to a doctor and be tested or get another pregnancy test as a backup.

yes you can, but it is extremely unlikely. You could have a posiitive result and then get your period.. meaning you had a very very early miscarriage... (the kind that if you had not taken a test you would have never known you were pregnant) Or, the test could have been taken incorrectly... if you let the test sit for more that ten minutes before you looked at it, the results may not be accurate. Usually hpt test are pretty darn right when it comes to being positive. There are alot of false negatives, but rarely a false positive. If you are unsure, wait two days and test again, or go to the doctor and get it confirmed there. I'm going to go ahead and wish you a congrats!

Yes you can. It could be a number of things, like a bad test or control or something else

I have never had that happen to me. If you follow the directions and it says you are pregnant then your pregnant. If you don't follow the directions then yes you could get a wrong answer. Good Luck.

false negatives are common, i think if you have a positive then you are probably pregnant
