They come into estrus (heat). Its different from humans. Female animals are only fertile during their heat cycle. For instance, dogs commonly come into heat once every 6 months (on average). They do bleed.

In general, not like humans. In most other mammals, the females will come into estrus (come into "heat") once or twice a year. Some of them will indeed "bleed" if they are not impregnated during the time of estrus.

I think so, I have a female cat and she's 'in heat' every so often, the same reaction as the period.

I know female dogs bleed a little during heat.

females go into heat and bleed they have dogie diapers at the pet store for this so it wont get all over the house or you could just get her fixed

Yes, at least dogs do. Our cocka-poo had hers when she was about 1 year old. Then We had her fixed.

I know that cats do....at least when they're in heat. Beyond that, I'm not sure.
