There are many Buffy to Angel cross overs.
The first season of Angel, we actually get 4 of them.
The first is "In The Dark." The episode's name is a play on words of the Buffy episode that it did the crossover with, "The Harsh Light of Day." We actually get two characters from this one that cross over. We see both Spike and Oz. The episode revolves around the Gem of Amara.
The second is my favorite crossover episode, "I Will Remember You." In this one we see Buffy coming into town. She came to town because she was not too happy with Angel coming back to Sunnydale and not telling her. Great episode.
The third is "Five By Five." With the title name alone, I am sure you can guess that it is Faith who we see in this one.
The fourth (and last in season 1) is "Sanctuary." This one has both Faith and Buffy. Which is the only time they will both be on the series. Also, Sarah's last time on Angel.
Season two is also full of them too.
The first is "Judgment." We get to see Faith in this one. And a good Faith too.
The next is in "Darla." We see Spike, Dru, and The Master. It is a tie-in with the season five Buffy episode "Fool For Love."
And more Dru comes in the episodes "The Trial," "Reunion," and "Redefinition." After the last in season two of Angel, we see Dru then moving back to Buffy for the season 5 episode of "Crush."
The next is "Disharmony." In this one we see Harmony and Willow. Cordy makes a call to Willow back in Sunnydale, but we do get to see her.
Season three we do not see any (but they do mention Buffy in the beginning). This is because this was the season that Buffy moved over to UPN.
Season 4 has more though.
We get quite a bit of Faith. She comes back for the episodes "Salvage," "Release," and "Orpheus."
Also in "Orpheus," we see Willow come to town! She then leaves with Faith to go back to Sunnydale together.
In season 5, Spike and Harmony officially join the cast.
Spikes comes back from what happened at the end of season 7 of Buffy, and semi-joins team Angel. Harmony is Angel's new secretary.
Dru comes back in season 5 too, but only in flashbacks in the episodes "Destiny," and "The Girl In Question."
Andrew come to town back in season as well. He first comes in the episode "Damage," to take a mentally damaged new slayer back to England with him so he and Giles (who restarted the watchers council) could help her. We also see a lot of ex-potentials and now slayers helping him at the end as well. Although, none from Buffy. The second is in "The Girl In Question." He is actually staying at Buffy and Dawn's place in Italy.
To go into further with the potentials, I recommend the Buffy book "Queen of the Slayers" by Nancy Holder. It goes along side of Angel season 5. It's basically like a season 8. It's a pretty good read.

There isn't enough space to tell you what happened. But you can check out the site(s) below and they have episode guides to let you know what happened.
Yes, there was cross over. Spike got a soul. The potentials were awakened to help fight the "big bad." The links will help.
