I know that every country has holidays that other countries don't. These special days are each very different from others. I have read about several holidays that some countries have, and they sound like they would be wonderful to attend. While a lot of people don't look on Thanksgiving as "cool", it is my favorite holiday. My children, grandchildren, and a few close friends sharing good, down-home-country cooking. The baking usually starts about a week before, then the canned, dried, and frozen vegetables from my organic garden are brought out and fixed in so many different ways it just makes your mouth water. We all give our thanks for this very special day and then eat. Any that is left-over goes home with whoever wants what. And the kids do the dishes and clean up the kitchen. After we eat, we match up in teams and play games. Quality time spent with loved ones. That's why I think that Thanksgiving is the "coolest" holiday.

Christmas is the coolest not because of presents but family coming together, eating good home made food and just that joyous feeling. for 1 night everyone is just loving and happy.

I think you might have a pretty good candidate, however I think Russian members of the Polar Bear Society may have you beat when they break the ice to go for a winter swim.

I don't have a clue what they call it, but I call it irrational.

Chinese New Year because everything's so festive and red, meaning luck and happiness. I love the feeling of being around family for the traditional family meals. I can't forget to mention the red envelopes.

Halloween.
Come on, the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest, the leaves turn colours and fall, the weather is cool, apple cider, pumpkin carving, an excuse to eat candy and dress in costumes...
